Global Trade Integration (GTI) works to advance the integration of poor and underserved communities into global markets through data, research, policy engagement, and advocacy. Our work addresses long-standing gaps in trade data, information, analysis, and transparenc that limit the ability of governments and development partners to design effective, inclusive trade policies.
Trade Data & Analytics
GTI provides comprehensive international trade analytics covering the entire Harmonized System (HS) at the chapter, heading, and subheading levels. Our platform tracks trade performance for approximately 7,000 product categories, enabling detailed analysis of exports, imports, market shares, growth trends, and competitiveness across countries and regions. GTI strives to make all trade data dashboards and analytical outputs freely accessible to the public.
Research & Policy Analysis
GTI conducts applied research on international trade, development, and macroeconomic policy, with a strong emphasis on commodity-specific dynamics in developing and emerging economies. We publish analytical reports and policy briefs that translate granular trade data into practical insights at the product and sector levels—areas that have often been underrepresented in traditional trade research despite their importance for productivity, export diversification, and inclusive growth.
Support to Governments
GTI provides analytical and advisory support to governments, with priority given to low-income and least-developed countries, where services are offered free of charge. This assistance includes commodity-level trade diagnostics, analytical reporting, and policy-relevant insights aimed at improving overall trade performance, strengthening institutional capacity, and fostering the effective integration of poor communities into global markets, while supporting inclusive growth informed decision-making globally.
Advocacy and Engagement
GTI advocates for policies and strategies that promote the productive integration of poor communities into global markets. We engage with policymakers, development partners, and other stakeholders to highlight trade-related barriers affecting underserved populations and to promote inclusive, data-driven trade solutions. As part of this work, GTI collaborates with local and international media to disseminate evidence-based analysis and contribute to informed public dialogue on trade and development.
